Meet Stanam Mokoma, a young girl from a village called Mpharare, in the mountainous, land-locked kingdom of Lesotho. Following the death of her mother from HIV/Aids, Stanam found herself seeking refuge from the neglect she faced at the hands of her grandmother on the streets of the capital, Maseru.

Watch this film to discover how Stanam found hope and opportunity thanks to the programmes offered by Kick4Life, a beneficiary of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy Trust. Based at the Football for Hope Centre in Maseru, Kick4Life offers opportunities for young people like Stanam to achieve a sustainable livelihood in spite of their circumstances.

“My first day at Kick4Life, I saw a friendly place with so much life then I found hope that I would find the help that I needed,” Stanam Mokoma
