The 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy Trust provided SAFA with a grant to procure a site, the Fun Valley resort, off the Golden Highway in Johannesburg to establish its own international standard National Technical Centre. The centre will, as minimum, have the following facilities:

• Football pitches – natural and artificial
• Hybrid football turf
• Small sided training pitches
• Fully equipped gymnasium
• Rehabilitation facility
• Indoor football facility
• Beach football facility
• Research and development facility
• Meeting and conference facility
• Accommodation
• Functional pleasure resort

 

Work on the centre has commenced with the construction of the first artificial turf, funded by FIFA through their Goal project. SAFA teams are already making use of the resort for accommodation and training camps.
